The Proposal Engineer is responsible for analyzing client requirements, creating technical and
commercial proposals, and developing cost estimates. This role involves supporting colleagues with
technical and proposal-related queries, as well as researching new products and technologies to
meet client needs effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Proposal Development & Cost Estimation:
• Analyze client requirements and prepare technical and commercial proposals.
• Develop accurate cost estimates, ensuring competitive and profitable pricing.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary inputs for proposals.
• Ensure compliance with client specifications and industry standards.
2. Client & Stakeholder Communication:
• Engage with clients to clarify requirements and address queries.
• Support business development and sales teams by providing proposal insights.
• Assist in negotiations by offering technical and cost-related justifications.
3. Product Research & Development:
• Stay updated on new products and technologies relevant to client industries.
• Conduct research to find optimal solutions that align with client needs.
• Evaluate vendors and suppliers to source cost-effective materials or services.
4. Internal Support & Collaboration:
• Provide guidance to colleagues regarding technical and commercial aspects.
• Assist in process improvements related to proposal management.
• Work closely with engineering, finance, and operations teams for proposal accuracy.
Skills & Competencies Required:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in proposal writing and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of cost estimation and pricing strategies.
• Ability to research and evaluate new products effectively.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BTech Mechanical).

• Experience in proposal writing, cost estimation, or technical sales (preferred).
• Familiarity with engineering and industry-specific tools/software is a plus.
